Cutler And Gross Glasses

Cutler and Gross glasses combine the finest craftsmanship with indisputably cool style. Founded in 1969, the British luxury eyewear brand was created by two opticians, Tony Gross and Graham Cutler, who then brought on a frame maker to craft Cutler and Gross eyewear. 1971 saw the first Cutler and Gross store open in Knightsbridge, London, followed soon after by the first ever ophthalmic advertisement launched by the brand, which was at the time illegal. Cutler and Gross eyewear launched their first ready to wear collection in 1983, handmade in Cadore. The brand soon became renowned for their audacious character which makes every frame unique to its wearer. The brand is also assorted with royalty, as Princess Anne visited the Cutler and Gross stand in Paris, and Princess Diana was spotted sporting a pair of Cutler and Gross frames to the British Grand Prix. A hallmark in British eyewear, Cutler and Gross eyewear designs continue to grace the face of the most iconic faces in the worlds of design, art, film and music. Cutler and Gross eyewear was worn by Julia Roberts in the film Notting Hill, and by Colin Firth in the Kingsman: The Secret Service. With their trademark numbered designs and absence of ostentatious logos, Cutler and Gross glasses are instantly recognisable. So much so, that Cutler and Gross frames have been featured in many exhibitions, including FashionThings: Surrealism and Design at the Victoria and Albert Fashion exhibition, and Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore! Retrospective in London. Cutler and gross glasses are available with a wide range of lens options in your prescription at Shade Station.
