The brand was founded by brothers Rudolf and Adi Dassler who were shoe makers from a small rural town and the company began very small. The brothers had the prime objective of creating a shoe that was original in design yet practical and durable.   The brand was first recognised when the shoes were seen in the Olympics which really helped to put the brand on the map.

In 1948 Rudolf Dassler left to start his own company and thus Adi came up with the simple idea of a three stripe logo and changed the brand name to Adidas. The brand grew from strength to strength with the trainers regularly featuring in the Olympics and thus became the leading sports shoe brand and highly sought after.   The company was gradually passed down the Dassler family but is now run by Bernard Tapie who is responsible for extending the Adidas product lines to further clothing and accessories but maintaining the original core brand values. With names such as Run-DMC associating themselves with Adidas, the brand is now synonymous with a cool and funky image and regarded as highly on trend.   Adidas goggles are one of the recently launched accessories by the brand and also renowned for their practical capabilities and stylish aesthetic.
