Perrelet Watches

The founder of Perrelet watches was Abraham-Louis Perrelet who was born in 1729. A highly skilled and passionate watch maker, Perrelet dedicated most of his life to creating the finest watches possible. In fact, Perrelet was significant in the invention and development of the automated watch winding system in the 1770’s and this non-stop mechanism is still very prominent in watches of today and allows watches to continue working on a non-stop basis. Abraham-Louis Perrelet’s grandson, Louis-Frederic Perrelet was highly inspired by his grandfather and thus also became a fine watchmaker. Louis-Frederic Perrelet was quite the expertise in watch making in his own right and was asked to make watches for the Royal families in France. In 1827 he then patented a further revolutionary development after inventing the chronograph split-second mechanism. The Perrelet watch brand was re-launched in 1995 and each model conveys the essence of traditional and luxury watch making with a fine blend of contemporary features and technologies. Perrelet today still produces self-winding watches based on the principles invented by Abraham-Louis Perrelet and in 1995 the revived Perrelet brand introduced yet another invention in the form of the first double rotor watch which provides a faster and more stable winding process than used in other automatic movements. The recent Perrelet collections maintain the tradition of Swiss craftsmanship with each watch made individually by hand with added aesthetic features such as the incorporation of stunning jewel stones and high quality and durable materials including 18k gold and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. The collections comprise of watches for women and men in addition to sport and contemporary inspired watches. The women’s collections have an elegant and jewellery inspired aesthetic and are beautifully striking watches that every lady would be proud to own and wear.
