Celebrities favour Armani Sunglasses

May 15, 2009

You don’t get much more ‘designer’ than Giorgio Armani. You’ll have seen pictures of the man before, generally with his arm wrapped around the waist of a glamorous actress or a gorgeous model. A big happy, toothy white grin in a tanned face on the body of a diminutive, distinguished, older man.

Designers often use high profile figures in their advertising campaigns and Armani is no stranger to this ploy. As a friend of the Beckhams and inspired by their good looks and global influence, Armani has used the couple in his current underwear campaign to great effect. Both Victoria and David are known across the world for their amazing bodies and love of fashion and Armani’s campaign has them posing seductively together and separately in beautifully designed underwear.

As well as sporting masses of Armani on the red carpet, celebrities are often seen out and about in stylish Armani sunglasses. Current favourites include model ‘9426/S’ which Lauren Conrad from The Hills wears, Russell Crowe was spotted at the premiere for his latest film ‘State of Play’ wearing Armani’s GA 567/S Aviators and wraparound model ‘9436’ is worn frequently by Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.

Armani sunglasses are both stylish and chic. With a vast range to choose from, Shade Station has the freshest and most current styles to suit your face shape and help you emulate your favourite celebrity!

Face Flatterers

May 16, 2008
Posted by David

In the same way you wouldn’t wear an outfit that didn’t suit your figure, don’t choose sunglasses that won’t flatter your face. Work with what you’ve got and make the most of your features, and resist splashing out on certain styles if you’re only buying them for fashion’s sake. After all, your face is the one part of the body you can’t cover up, and once you’ve planted a pair of whoppers on your mug, there’s no avoiding people’s stares!

So, before you start your sunglasses spree clarify what face shape you have, as it’s this that will distinguish which styles are winners and which are losers…

Round Face

Circular frames will only make your face appear rounder so steer clear of curves and opt for square, angular designs instead as these will make your face appear longer and slimmer.

Circular Celebs: Sophie Ellis Bexter, Kiera Knightley, Drew Barrymore, Charlotte Church

Face Flatterer: Dior Cottage shades

Heart Shaped face

To draw attention away from a wider forehead and narrow chin you need to draw the focus in towards the middle of your face to balance out your features. For this, thin rimmed frames and larger styles will work wonders.

Heart Shaped Heroines: Sophie Dahl, Michelle Pfieffer, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Reese Witherspoon

Face Flatterer: Dolce & Gabbana shades DG2027B

Oval face

Luckily for you anything goes as you’ve been blessed with the face shape that has the most balanced proportions. Experiment with the latest trends or choose squarer frames with rounded off edges if you want a fail-safe solution.

Oval Icons: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Bosworth, Cat Deeley

Square Face

A square face means strong, angular features so round, curved or wrap-around frames look best as they help to soften the face. Classic oval styles will also compliment your characteristics.

Square Faced Superstars: Demi Moore, Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock

Face Flatterer: Stella McCartney shades STM74 LITEQ

Long face

Thin frames are a no-go, but both round and square shapes will look great on long faces. Oversized specs and decorative detailing at the temples will also help to add width to your face.

Long Faced Leading Ladies: Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox

Face Flatterer: Bvlgari shades BV8012B 851/13

SATC London Premiere

May 14, 2008
Posted by David

There is without doubt only one film of 2008 that we are excitedly awaiting in anticipation. Yes the Sex and The City movie is finally set for release at the end of this month and London was the chosen city to show host premiere on May12th. The event was a huge success despite those in the fashion and film industry questioning as to why the premiere was not held in New York.

Sarah Jessica Parker who plays fashion icon Carrie Bradshaw explained that the cast were thrilled at the decision yet co-star Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda, played it down by claiming that last night’s London premiere was indeed not the main event and was merely a build towards the grand New York premiere. There has been much rumour of disputes between the cast members but there was only really one person that the media and fans were preoccupied with last night (and more importantly of course her outfit). 43-year-old actress Sarah Jessica Parker chose a somewhat characteristically eccentric choice in the form of a larger than life garden style Philip Treacy hat with an Alexander McQueen green prom-style dress and black stilettos. Nevertheless, in true Carrie fashion she made it look uniquely stylish. Her co-star Kim Cattrall chose a classic red dress by Vivienne Westwood, while Cynthia Nixon opted for a black Calvin Klein number and Kristin Davis wore a vintage fuschia dress.

The Sex And The City television series which ended four years ago had us gripped by the cosmopolitan sipping, Jimmy Choo wearing modern New York lives of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. The film plot is top secret but Parker has already revealed that her character experiences a significant loss which we can only assume refers to Mr Big? Not long until we find out however as the film goes on general release in the UK on May 28.
