Meryl Streep Prada GlassesWhen you think of all things chic and sophisticated, Prada is undoubtedly one of the brands that springs to mind. The latest collection of Prada glasses definitely make it that little bit more fun and enjoyable to wear glasses, and will never fail to add a touch of the Prada elegance to your everyday look. For this season, glasses have been going retro and the new PR03NV Prada glasses for ladies are a great example of this with their narrow and defined shape and a hint of a cat-eye inspired finish where the upper corners are accentuated.

The colours available such as the purple translucent option, infuse a modern finish to the glasses and the sleek metal temple detailing featuring the Prada logo adds the perfect finishing touch. The overall look is bold and statement without being overly daring. If you’re looking to channel the super trendy geek-chic look, then the PR04MV Prada glasses for men are the ideal choice with their streamlined rectangular thick frame. The tapered arms and minimal detailing makes these glasses super smart but also show that you have great style! Perhaps you’re a fan of the more oversized style of sunglasses with a slightly slimmer frame? If so the PR15NV Prada glasses for men should fit the bill.

With chic metal detailing on the bridge section and arms, these Prada glasses are designed with a timelessly stylish finish and are great for everyday wear with a bit of an edge! Ultimately Prada is a brand that will never be off the fashion radar and creates its glasses with style longevity in mind. Though many of their frames take inspiration from trends, Prada glasses will look great for seasons to come and will instantly add a polished, striking and ‘well-styled’ finish to your look.

Prada commissioned 3 artists to create a series of illustrations for the new sunglasses in a distinctively quirky style. The pictures include images of dogs and birds wearing the sunglasses and definitely help to emphasise the playful tone of the collection! In typical Prada fashion, the Minimal Baroque sunglasses boast beautifully ornate aesthetics with strong detailing. However, these two styles are specifically centred around the lavish and ornate Baroque trend and feature intricately sculptured frames, bold curves and elaborate colour and pattern fusions.

Prada Minimal Baroque Sunglasses 27NSThere are 2 styles available within the Baroque collection; the 27NS Prada sunglasses and the 28NS design. The 27NS style features a perfectly rounded and oversized frame where the focal feature is the arms; incorporating a beautifully designed swirling finish that really make these sunglasses a show stopping accessory. The 27NS Prada sunglasses are available in a stunning array of colours, all of which are representative of the Baroque theme.

The 28NS style is also oversized with prominent and thicker outer frame edges, creating a cat-eye inspired effect to the design. This section of the frame is further accentuated with patterned and/or coloured detailing and comes in an irresistible selection of Baroque inspired tones that are perfect for spring/summer style.

Prada Minimal Baroque Sunglasses 28NSHaving been featured in the likes of the June 2011 issue of Vogue and the May 2011 issue of Elle, the Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses are definitely one of the hottest styles we will see this season. Spring/summer 2011 is all about infusing bold and striking twists to your style and even with the most neutral and understated of outfits, the Minimal Baroque Prada sunglasses will instantly add a high-fashion, playful and glamorous finish.

The two new Prada sunglasses styles are due in May so we’ll let you know as soon as you can get your hands on a pair!

Festival Sunglasses Trends 2010

June 9, 2010
Posted by David

Summer is officially here, the sun is shining and we couldn’t be happier! With the warmer months comes the usual smorgasbord of amazing festivals to get your hedonistic thrills at. Whether you enjoy moshing at ‘Download’, country pursuits at ‘The Green Man’, teenage kicks at ‘V Festival’, fancy dress at ‘Bestival’, glamour at newbie ‘Vintage at Goodwood’ or the mystic of ‘Glastonbury’, you must ensure you’re dressed for the occasion.

Festivals, fashionable summer gear and cool sunglasses all go hand in hand. Maybe it’s the influence of Gaga or perhaps Dita Von Teese, but this summer is all about kooky and vintage. With styles from the Fifties and Sixties making a comeback, we predict this year’s festivals to be awash with vintage shaped sunglasses in a cat’s eye style or small round frames, oversized sunglasses in reds, greens and brown and retro-looking shades.

The festival season kicked off with April’s Coachella Festival in California, where a host of celebrities dazzled with their fashionable threads and on-trend sunglasses. Kelly Osborne was spotted wearing small round framed lilac sunglasses, Katy Perry went retro in angular black frames with a bold white stripe across the top, Dita Von Teese personified Fifties elegance in oversized brown sunglasses with graduated lenses and Kate Bosworth dressed to impress in classic Ray Ban Aviators.

Aviators and Wayfarers from Ray Ban transcend fashion and will always be popular and current. For classic sunglasses you can’t go wrong with either of these styles for festival frolicking. The same goes for oversized glam shades. Designers like Gucci, Bvlgari, Versace, D&G, MDG Sunglasses, Chanel and Pucci all have great sunglasses for summer goddess style. On the other hand if you’re a seasonal type of girl with a desire to look fabulous and ‘now’ – take a leaf from Kelly O’s book and opt for small round shades. This style was all over the spring / summer catwalks and looks great in pastel coloured frames teamed with a floral frock or playsuit. Or you may want to play the vintage diva with cats eye shaped sunglasses – again a strong trend on the catwalk this year. Look to brands like Prada and Marc Jacobs to achieve this look.

We’ve got our Big Chill tickets and our festival sunnies sorted. Now it’s just a case of praying for sunshine! Here’s hoping….

The Concept Behind Prada Sport

January 26, 2010
Posted by David

We all know that Prada is a brand which captures the essence of luxury and high-fashion. However, sometimes a brand needs to be able to provide something a little more casual and practical whilst still of course retaining the glamour and style. Therefore Prada also launched Prada Sport in the early 1990’s which is the brand’s leisure line and designed to be slightly more sport fashion orientated, as the name suggests.

Now, whilst most of us may think of tracksuits or even worse, the dreaded shell suit when we think of sports fashion it has actually become very much on trend over recent years and the definition of a sporty style certainly does not mean baggy, conservative or unflattering. In today’s era whereby physical activity or at least being on the go most of the time has become part of many of our lifestyles, we can’t walk around wearing high fashion attire or accessories all of the time because it simply isn’t practical. Advertising has also become far more leisure fashion orientated with images of healthy, athletic and happy people on the go. Sports stars are also becoming sports personalities and we see them wearing sport/fashion brands which of course then increases the popularity of the sports/fashion genre and makes it regarded as more trcndy and sought after. Prada quickly recognised this and by providing the Prada Sport line, this means the brand really does have something for those who want their attire and accessories to enhance their physical performance and thus caters for fashion across all style sectors.

The collection of Prada Sport sunglasses are highly stylish but are designed to be more practical for everyday wear, robust and durable. The Prada Sport label is sometimes known as the Linea Rossa line which means ‘red line’ in Italian and this is because a red line is the defining design detail used on the Prada Sport products. Within the range of unisex Prada Sport sunglasses, you will often find the red line positioned on the arms. It is a highly distinctive feature and simple yet stylish. Prada Sport sunglasses aren’t designed to be bold fashion accessories but more geared towards practicality with that trendy and super stylish Prada edge.

The main characteristics of Prada Sport sunglasses are very much associated and influenced by notorious Italian exquisite style and quality perfection. The brand strongly believes that high quality should be top of the design agenda and therefore the collection of sunglasses are designed based on extensive research and development and use only the most durable and robust materials in the production stages to ensure a long lasting product that can be worn on a day to day basis and never fail to look fantastic. Prada Sport is an innovative brand that utilises advanced technologies but respects that people favour the brand for its tradition style and concepts. Prada Sport sunglasses definitely have are strong character which is enhanced by flawless technology and unique style. The ultimate in combining practicality with full function. A fantastic range of sunglasses that are contemporary, cool and offer something highly credible in the sports/fashion world.
