Bradley Wiggins Wearing Oakley Radarlock

First staged in 1903 and approximately covering 2000 miles over a three week period the Tour de France is one of the most prolific bicycle races in the racing calendar.  Being one of the three main “grand tours” riders compete for various accomplishments including king of the mountains; the best rider over the mountain stages and the yellow jersey; the fastest rider over the whole tour.  After each stage the fastest man at that time wears the yellow jersey into the next stage.  This can be a mental advantage over other riders and lets them know this is the guy to beat.

Riders work in teams to take the pressure off the main riders.  If you are British the team to watch this year would be Sky.  The Sky team consist of mainly British riders including the two big names in British cycling; Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.  Bradley Wiggins is the current yellow jersey holder and has held it for the past week and a half.  He mainly has Chris Froome to thank for this for his fast pace setting and dedication to Bradley.  Chris and Bradley managed to keep on the wheel of the only other main rival of this years tour Vincenzo Nibali.  As long as they keep on his wheel for the next few days Bradley should keep the yellow Jersey until Paris which is obviously Sky’s plan.

If you have ever seen the Tour de France it is very hard to spot a rider who is not wearing Oakley Sunglasses.  Oakley is massive at the Tour de France and most riders choose something from the Radar selection.  Many of the riders this year including Bradley Wiggins have chosen to wear the new Oakley Radarlock sunglasses.  Radarlock offer easy lens changeability and a wide lens which offers a wide peripheral vision.  Wiggin’s teammate Chris Froome is one of the only riders wearing the Oakley Racing Jackets.  All new Oakley Racing Jackets are the new and updated Jawbones.  They are quite small compared to the Radar selections although they still offer easy lens changeability and a wide selection of lenses to choose from.  Chris Froome this year has chosen a polished white frame with a violet iridium lens.

Other sunglasses which will be spotted next year are the Oakley Radarlock XL which is a must with most cyclists.  The lens is stretched higher than the normal Radar selection so when you have your head down and are pushing for the win you are not looking at the top bar of the frame.  The arms on the Oakley Radarlock XL Straight are designed to be as straight as possible and are a perfect fit under most Aero helmets.  The Radarlock XL selection will be available with Shade Station in October so sit tight and you can have a pair soon.

Oakley are the best in the business for cycling and anyone interested in and competing in this sport needs a pair.
