Shane O’Neill Wins the Unique Nixon Watch
Nixon is a brand that is renowned for its involvement in the skate sports industry, and one of the most recent high profile events associated with Nixon is a competition named the Street League of Skateboarding which took place in Las Vegas. The winner of the highly popular and prestigious competition was Shane O’Neill.
In addition to a prize of $150,000, O’Neill has also won a unique and one-of a kind Nixon watch, designed specifically for the competition and winner.

Watches Style Update – Summer 2010
Whilst watches have always been an accessory that most of us wear on a daily basis for both fashion and functional purposes, the past year has seen the watch rise even further through the accessory ranks with various styles of watches often being featured on celebrities and the style pages as the prominent and key must-have item of the moment. Here are Shade Station our collection of brands and watch designs are continually growing and this summer, we have more options available than you ever thought imaginable. Nixon Watches – A Creative Fusion of Sport, Art and Music
Nixon is an exceptionally cool brand that is highly prominent in the creative scenes ranging from music and art through to skating and extreme sports. Nixon is always being spotted out and about at industry events and has recently showcased its new collection of watches for 2010 at Baselworld in Switzerland which is the world’s leading international watch tradeshow. Nixon was excited to debut the new collection as well as some existing Nixon classics so I’m sure we have lots of new styles to look out for during 2010!
In other Nixon news, a Nixon watch favourite; the Time Teller P was selected by a prestigious design jury as the best watch of 2010. The watch was chosen as the best watch by the 2010 Travel+Leisure Awards because of its variety of 
cool colours and polyurethane materialisation and has also been described as a great watch to travel with due to its innovative design and durability. Indeed, the Time Teller P is definitely a cool watch and in a choice of vibrant and trendy colours including blue, pink and purple, it is simple yet striking and is the perfect accessory to jazz up your look.
The collection of Nixon watches are incredibly varied in terms of both style and price. On the higher and more elite end of the scale, watches such as The Ceramic and The Ceramic Player are made from exceptionally high quality materials such as mineral crystals and also feature custom three hand Swiss movement. These make for the perfect watch investments that are sure to last a lifetime.
Of course, recognising that budget is of the essence for many, Nixon also have some amazing styles that are a little easier on the bank balance but are still right on trend and perfectly convey the Nixon attitude and character. Nixon Watches – It’s All About the Colour!
Throughout 2009 we have seen many watch brands moving away from the typical and classic silver and gold metal tones and adding a splash of colour into their collection of watches. Nixon is one of these brands who has recognised that colour is a key trend which is set to continue for quite some time and thus a selection of Nixon watches incorporate bold and vibrant colour palettes which can add an instant wow factor to your look.
Whilst on the catwalks, in typical autumn and winter style, colours are more muted and neutral and we have seen many tailored and structured looks which provides scope to use accessories as a way of adding a sense of vibrancy and personality. Colourful watches have been noted by many fashion critics as incredibly stylish and provide people with the ability to add something unique to their wardrobe in a way that is much less expensive

Nixon watches have some fantastic colourful and vibrant options and bold colour doesn’t necessary mean a young look – get the colour and style right and the watch will still look sophisticated and ultra chic. The Dynasty Leather ladies watch with its purple leather strap and dial is a great example of how colour can still look smart as the elegant stainless steel buckle and simple dial with silver accents means that the focus remains entirely on the bold colour and the watch doesn’t look too over the top or fussy. It is amazing how colour can instantly lift your outfit and colourful accessories work best and look most striking when placed against a more neutral toned outfit so that they really stand out.
