We all know that the main objective of sunglasses is to protect the eyes but many people tend to use them more as a fashion accessory to create a style statement. Despite Oakley sunglasses being a sports brand, in recent years they have also balanced function with style and the result is a huge choice to suit every sport and fashion need. However, when chosing a pair of sunglasses, it is important to consider what frames will suit your face shape. Each of us have a completely unique shaped face but these can be categorised to help choose the best pair of sunglasses to enhance your best facial features.

Here is a rundown of the various face shapes and the new Oakley styles recommended for each-:

Oakley sunglasses for an oval face-: If you are fortunate enough to have an oval face then you are probably able to wear a range of different styles which will flatter your bone structure. Oval faces tend to have high cheekbones and chins which are narrower than their forehead so a classic shape such as a pair of Felon Oakley sunglasses with a simple black frame would look great. The Oakley Juliet sunglasses are also a great option.

Oakley sunglasses for a square face-: A square face is typically wide and angular and therefore a pair of oval or round shaped Oakley sunglasses will help to contrast the square shape and elongate the face – the Abandon or Belong Oakley sunglasses are a flattering option as they are not too heavy looking or oversized and have a relatively thin frame which will compliment your features. With their oversized frames and fashionable aesthetic, these styles are also incredibly on trend.

Oakley sunglasses for a triangle or heart shaped face-: This is where the face is narrower at the top and the chin and cheeks are slightly wider. To draw the attention to the upper side of the face, keep the sunglasses simple and of a neutral colour as bold or patterned frames will emphasise the features you want to minimise. Again classic style Oakley sunglasses such as the Inmate or the Square Whisker are good choices.

Oakley sunglasses for a round face-: A round face tends to look full and youthful and the aim is to create an impression of elongating and slimming down the face as often this face structure lacks definition in the cheekbone and  jaw areas. Oakley sunglasses which have more square or rectangular frames are perfect and colour is a good way to inject some dimension. The new Nano Wire or Crosshair Oakley frames are a great option.

There are some incredible new Oakley styles to look out for this season, including some rather high tech sunglasses such as the O Rokr Pro Bluetooth Device and the Thump 1, 2 and Pro MP3 as well as the new and already iconic Oakley Pit Boss sunglasses with their angular and sharp aesthetic. Oakley has become notably fashion forward with many celebs favouring the brand on a day to day basis and there is a huge variety of styles within the collections. Oakley sunglasses are renowned for being of the highest quality in the industry and are constantly updating their technologies and styles to cater for every want and need when looking for the perfect pair of sunglasses.
