Polise Sunglasses Style

Police is the brand famed for courting some of Hollywood’s leading men. Bruce Willis, George Clooney and Antonio Banderas have all leant their names and good looks to the Police label. But it is Britain’s own king of cool David Beckham, that really catapulted the brand into the main stream fashion retail arena in the mid Noughties.

Police are slowly becoming a real lifestyle brand – as well as selling clothes, watches, accessories and sunglasses, they have begun selling prescription glasses, jewellery and scents. However it is their sunglasses that we are really interested in… and celebrities seem to agree. Beckham is often seen wearing Police shades and R&B singer Ne-Yo is also partial to Police sunglasses if his appearance at Cannes last year is anything to go by!

Shade Station sell a wide range of Police Sunglasses – from classic aviators to sporty wraparounds. To give you a little helping hand we thought we’d highlight a few of the hottest styles to wear this summer;

Summer wouldn’t be summer without a stylish pair of aviators. Police do the perfect pair in style S8333. Aviators need little introduction, they suit anyone and everyone and will always be fashionable. We say, if in doubt, always opt for aviators!

Police do retro too; you only have to look at style S1626 to know this. An oversized pair of Police sunglasses in tortoiseshell or black with plastic frames and graduated lenses, these funky shades will go down a treat in the park or whooping it up at a festival.

Style S8225 are slightly more reserved and subtle than the previous sunglasses, but will suit sporty men down to the ground. With a sleek style, thin metal frames and a jazzy triple striped arm, these sunnies will definitely keep you looking cool this summer.

Most Police sunglasses are unisex and designed with the fashionable, yet slightly erring on classic, in mind. If this sounds like you, then make sure you check out the latest range of Police sunglasses at Shade Station in time for the hot weather coming our way. (Fingers crossed!)

Police Sunglasses – Timeless Italian Style

The Police brand was launched back in the 1980’s and was inspired aesthetically by the sunglasses worn by the U.S Police. Since then, Police has grown incredibly and the Police sunglasses range is perfect if you want to capture that essence of chic Italian style.

There are some fantastic new styles ready for the spring/summer season, many of which are fairly sporty looking and are never too overstated or bold, making them highly wearable and versatile for all seasons and occasions.

The new S1629 Police sunglasses for example are a sophisticated unisex style in a simple but statement classic wraparound design. The frame is black with the iconic Police logo subtly positioned adjacent to the hinge.

All Police sunglasses are perfectly structured and flatter a number of face shapes and the unisex styles look equally great on the guys and girls. Police sunglasses are the ideal choice if you are a girl who likes her sunglasses to look chic and sophisticated but versatile and with a sporty edge as opposed to typically high fashion.

Of course, Police is still considered to be one of the most fashionable brands around but has achieved this status due to its unique approach to trends. With on-trend styles such as S8413 wraparounds to the S8333 aviators and even the oversized S1626 which have a slightly retro appeal, Police sunglasses remain seasonally stylish but maintain a simple yet statement look of their own which ensures that from a style and fashion perspective, they boast longevity.

The lenses within the Police sunglasses range are also available in a wide array of choices depending on of you prefer a more neutral, smart or contemporary finish. The S8296 Police sunglasses for example, feature light grey lenses with a slight mirrored effect whereas the S8424 ultra modern Police sunglasses incorporate much darker toned black lenses to compliment the style of the frames and the overall ‘look’ of the style.

Ultimately Police sunglasses are the perfect choice if you love to convey that classic Italian styling in your overall look and are seeking a pair of shades that will defy seasonal trends and will flatter every outfit, regardless of the occasion. Police is one of the most favoured designer brands across the globe because the style transcends and appeals to a number of fashion preferences and remains true to its original core and flawless style!

Police Sunglasses

Police sunglasses are an Italian brand with transatlantic appeal. Originally modelled on the shades worn by the Italian Police Force, Police sunglasses aimed to bottle and sell the distinct brand of cool the ‘Polizia’ sport. The label was launched in the early Eighties, when sunglasses made the progression from being a simple accessory to a major fashion accessory. The cult of Ray Ban probably helped launch hundreds of new eyewear brands during the boom of the Eighties!

Mirrored aviators were originally the staple of the Police brand, but now their portfolio has expanded to include variations on the aviator style and smart wraparound sunglasses. The majority of Police sunglasses sport sleek silver or black metal frames, with the Police logo on the arm and black or tinted brown lenses.

Police sunglasses have become know for their slick, uni sex style and their even slicker ad campaigns. With brand spokesmen like Bruce Willis, George Clooney, David Beckham and Antonio Banderas, they couldn’t fail to catch the public eye! These four very masculine stars each have qualities that appeal to men, yet at the same time have the ability to set a million women’s hearts racing. George Clooney’s charm, wit and suave looks helped elevate the Police brand in the early Noughties and then employing David Beckham at the height of his footballing fame, meant Police sunglasses really capitalised on their growing market share. With clever advertising and representation, Police sunglasses have hit their target audience right where it matters.

The iconic Police brand was launched in Italy in 1983 and has fast become an incredibly popular brand name across the world. Throughout the stages of the extensive brand timeline, as the popularity of Police has grown, it has launched further products accordingly and Police is now famous for its stylish and sophisticated range of sunglasses, fragrances, clothing, watches and accessories. Police was one of the first brands to make sunglasses a fashion statement, particularly during the 1980’s and it was their range of sunglasses that really put the brand on the map. Police watches were launched in 2003 and were representative of that same unique and innovative design geared towards individuals with a strong sense of their own style and didn’t conform to fashion and trends simply because something happens to be in fashion.

Police is synonymous with a confident and charismatic personality and has chosen a range of iconic actors, personalities and sportsman as representatives and ambassadors of the Police brand, all of whom have been photographed in stunning advertising campaigns wearing Police products. Between 1999 and 2000, Paolo Maldini, Bruce Willis, George Clooney and Antonio Banderas all lent their faces to Police. In recent years, David Beckham has been the male icon associated with Police. All of these men are recognised on a worldwide level and truly convey what the brand represents. They also of course portray a glamorous and masculine image and the pictures of George Clooney were primarily designed to capture the hearts of female fans and really brought his own individual style to the Police brand. Police has also recently announced that it will be sponsoring Italian 21 year old Formula 2 driver Edoardo Piscopo who is tipped to be a rising star in the motor racing industry and again, renowned for his handsome good looks.

Earlier this year, Police decided to become even closer to the consumer by launching a competition entitled ‘ BE YOUNIQUE’ whereby they were seeking a fresh new face to step into the shoes of the renowned past ambassadors and become the new face of Police. Wanting to find someone unique and unknown was the key as the brand wanted to transform young and ‘normal’ men and women with regular occupations and transform them into the new face of Police which the average public can identify with. That said, the brand of course was looking for someone very special who could successfully portray the desired image. The competition was hugely popular and the winner was announced earlier this month and Andrea Garbolino from Settimo Torinese will now be the new face of Police. Garbolino was chosen for his metropolitan style and vibrant personality which is incredibly typical of the Police brand. He will take part in a photo shoot in October which is set to launch as part of the brand’s 2010 international campaign.

Police watches are designed for men and women who favour a sleek and sophisticated style that comes from within their personality as opposed to simply what they wear. Police believes that your clothing and accessories should enhance your character and style and not define it. If you wear a Police watch, you are confident with your own dynamic style and your unique accessories reflect this. Many Police watches have a chunky aesthetic and feature stainless steel bands and striking dials with dual functions. Some also have black leather straps or black coated stainless steel which makes for an urban on-the-go look that easily takes you from day to night. Police wearers are seen to be always on the go the range of watches are casual enough for daywear yet would still spruce up an evening outfit. Italian style is very adaptable and the design of Police watches is very much of the same tone.

Some new Police watch styles to look out for include the Ambassador which is a classic and sophisticated men’s watch with a typical Police polished appeal and great for day-to-night. With a slim multi-strand strap and sleek black face, this watch has a timeless appeal and adds an element of class to your look. For something a little bolder, the Kerosine has a carbon coated black finish and a striking large electro plated dial which is the predominant feature and makes for the perfect statement watch. The Vantage Police watch is a unisex style and captures the chunky watch trend with a white finish and bold yet simply styled dial.

There is a fantastic selection of new Police watch styles to choose from, some more understated than others but all retaining that essence of unrivalled class, style and sophistication that is unique to the Police brand.

Police has been the advertising success story of the Noughties. Using superstars like David Beckham, George Clooney, Bruce Willis and Antonio Banderas, the Italian brand has boosted its popularity and global appeal to immense effect.

Prior to these incredibly successful marketing campaigns, Police was little known outside of Italy. However their ‘Poster Boys’ introduced men and women across the world to the Police way of accessorising. Police are arguably best known for their sunglasses and watches and neither line disappoint. Both are incredibly cool, stylish and contemporary.

Playing upon their brand name, the Police range of watches have suitably apt and involving names. Men’s models named ‘Patrol’, ‘Alert‘, ‘Rogue’, ‘Outlaw’ and ‘Trooper’, give a sense of masculinity and excitement to the meaty wristwear.

Police wristwear is designed for independent trendy men and women who enjoy standing out from the crowd and consciously avoid conformity. All pieces are built for action but are enveloped in a good looking, very tasteful exterior. The men’s range is entirely analogue and the straps are produced largely in leather or stainless steel. Throughout the collection, the watch faces are chunky and suitably muscly. Although there is less choice, the Women’s Police collection is highly covetable. Enjoying slimmer silhouettes and fresher colours, Police watches for women are a great choice for an active female who refuses to compromise on style.
