Style Update – Summer 2012
Summer is finally here and it couldn’t have come round quick enough! Have we got some cracking treats for you this summer; brand spanking new Oakley Sunglasses and a whole new range of Ray Ban for your delectation. Sit back, relax and look at what we have been preparing for you here at Shade Station over the Spring including new sunglasses, watches, jewellery and designer accessories.
Oakley are going to be huge this season with a vast array of new styles and technologies guaranteed to adorn the faces of thousands this summer. With the olympics looming, we have found that over 600 athletes will be wearing Oakley sunglasses and it is not difficult to figure out why. Their patented lens technology and unrivalled impact protection ensures that the users are comfortable, safe and generally very impressed. Lets take a look at the sunglass which is due to create the biggest ripples in the pond; the Oakley Radarlock Sunglasses. Oakley have taken their old Radar sunglasses and revamped them with their brand new Switchlock innovation which allows for quick and easy lens changes wherever you are, equipping you with almost all of the lenses Oakley have to offer. They are currently available in 2 lens shapes; the Pitch and the Path, however there are new styles due for release in October; the Radarlock XL, Radarlock XL Straight and Radarlock Edge.
Interchangability really is a game changer and it is not just the Oakley Radarlock sunglasses which allow the user to change their lenses dependant on the weather conditions. The brand new Oakley Half Jacket 2.0 Sunglasses also utilise this technology to devastating effect; combining Oakley’s lens flexibility with the physical elasticity of their frames. Along with these fantastic sports specific pairs, they have released the Oakley Titatanium Crosshair Sunglasses which slot nicely into their Oakley Active range; a group of sunglasses combining sports technology and fashion focused styling. The teardrop lenses are suited to most face types and shapes and the unobtanium earsocks ensure that they stick to your face like any high end sports performance sunglass should.
Ray Ban Sunglasses are responsible for some of the world’s most iconic styles; including the Aviator, Wayfarer and Clubmaster and this year, Ray Ban have released a whole new breed of these sunglass goliaths that have immediately shot to fame. The first of which is the Ray Ban Folding Aviator (RB3479); a fantastic innovation designed to solve the problem of what to do with your sunglasses when you take them off. The neat folding sunglasses fit perfectly into the pocket sized case, making them ideal for travelling. The same can be said for the Ray Ban Folding Wayfarer (RB4105). Pioneering folding technology is coupled with the stone-cold cool looks of the 80’s sunglass classic. If you are looking for something a little different this summer, the new range of colourful Wayfarer sunglasses ensure that you will quite simply Never Hide and they are certainly not short of fans. Walk down any high street in the world on a sunny day and you couldn’t count the Ray Bans on both hands…and you might even run low on toes. The juxtaposition of classic chic and new age technology is unrivalled in the fashion sunglasses market and it’s safe to say they’re probably going to be the popular choice this summer.
But it is not just Oakley and Ray Ban hogging the limelight for this summer with other sunglass brands and styles storming into prevolence. Chanel are one of the world’s biggest fashion brands and their new Chanel Sunglasses for the summer highlight how they became so popular in the first place. The concurrence of colours, styles and shapes make for sunglasses that anybody would love to own, including the vibrant, new CH5229Q range which really stands out from the crowd. Multi-toned arms accentuate the array of glamorous lens colours including the popular Graduated Violet and Graduated Brown options. Also making their way to the forefront for this sunny season are the new Michael Kors range, which are taking the colourful side of sunglasses to their fantastic best with the Caicos range leading the way. Don’t forget that we also have other brand new ranges from Boss Orange, Oliver Peoples, Miu Miu, Tiffany & Co, Dior and many more!
Watches are always going to be an accessory that most people will not leave the house without and if you look at some of the new watches for this summer it is clear to see that there is a reason for this. Probably the biggest watch release of the summer comes from Boss Orange Watches. Their new watches have been overhauled to fall in line with the face lifted leisurewear brand. A plethora of new watches and styles exudes a younger and more creative image; making them easily accessible for all ages. Lacoste Watches have also released some brand new colourful and varied styles which are perfect for those who want a designer watch but don’t want to break the bank! The three hand movement Goa range is bound to be very popular due to it’s simplicity and style. The classic round face look is back in after a small tip in the scales towards the squarer look and new watches from Skagen and Timex reflect this perfectly. We think that Timex are going to be huge this summer with the majority of them all having sporty features such as a chronograph, section timer and lap memory which are perfect for everyone looking to be a budding athlete while the olympics are back home in London.
Adidas watches also have huge new releases including the Limited Edition Melbourne watch, which celebrates 40 years of the Adidas trefoil logo. It is a celebration of Adidas’ continuing commitment to originality, authenticity and creativity which is reflected throughout their watches and the brand as a whole. They also have released a selection of new sports watches which are perfectly encompassing of the London 2012 spirit! On top of this, DKNY watches are looking to take off again this summer with white being the new black. A selection of new white and classically coloured watches from DKNY are sure to occupy the fashion watch market.
This summer’s jewellery is all about classic looks with new releases from Dogearred and DKNY taking centre stage, while Calvin Klein go back to their roots with retro bangles and a range of new earrings. We believe that a good piece of jewellery really completes any look and if your wardrobe is getting an overhaul, why not take a look at something a bit different with the likes of Couer De Lion and Shimla being your perfect choice.
Accessories are always going to be popular in the summer time, and with people jetting off to far away lands it is nice to know your luggage is going to be safe. Fantastic bags from Oakley and JanSport keep contents covered, while stylish handbags from Fossil complete any look.
