Mel Clarke’s Paralympics Blog!

The Paralympic Games were amazing, and even more so that they were on ‘home soil’ in London. This meant that the support from the British public, along with my family and friends was phenomenal.

The whole games experience – from the opening ceremony, competing, winning a medal, the closing ceremony and heroes parade in London was incredible – and definitely something that I will remember for my whole life – especially with the thousands of photos and video clips I have as memories too!

I shot my qualification round and finals matches wearing the Team GB Oakley Flak Jackets that were provided for me by Shade Station, and once more found them fantastic. I also used the shades for travelling around the village and exploring the Olympic Park on the beautiful and sunny days we were lucky enough to have for the competition.

Once more I would like to say a HUGE ‘Thank you’ to Shade Station for providing me with the Oakleys to use in the Paralympics. I know they helped with my training, vision and clarity in my prep leading up to the games, and definitely helped me to win my silver medal too!
