Goggle Style Update – Autumn/Winter 2012
It’s Autumn and it will soon be Winter, the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting colder and colder…so let’s go on holiday! It’s the perfect time of year to pack your bags and get off to your favourite ski/snowboard resort, despite the fact it will probably be even colder than here. We have a fantastic selection of snow goggles for this season and new releases from Oakley Goggles, Dragon Goggles and Bolle Goggles ensure a ski season to remember!
Oakley Goggles are certainly one of the biggest hitters in the snow goggle boxing match with over 600 patents on their lenses alone, they ensure that no other company can provide the same sort of quality as they do. Their incredible plutonite lens material provides unsurpassed protection for your eyes, filtering out 100% of harmful UVA, UVB and UVC light, including the dangerous blue light emitted from the sun. Unlike other goggle lenses, there are no coatings that filter the sunlight, it is the actual lens that is cuts it out, meaning that even if you chip, mark or scuff them; your eyes will always be protected. Not to mention the unrivalled O Matter frame material, it is flexible and durable; designed to withstand huge force without losing it’s original shape. This is perfect for putting them in the microbag and shoving them in your backpack – you know that when you get back to them, they will still be intact.
Oakley’s 2012/13 range of goggles is vast and ladened with technology and pure style. They extend from the more affordable ‘Active’ range including the classic Oakley A Frame, right up to the ‘Elite’ consisting of the fantastic Oakley Airbrake Goggle. Let’s start with the ‘Active’ and ‘Sports’ ranges; these are great for all you first time skiers out there who don’t want to break the bank, but want to utilise Oakley’s premium technology. Frames such as Twisted, O Frame and Crowbar all take advantage of the unrivalled durability and flexibility of O Matter Frames whilst keeping costs low.
Oakley’s new release for this season is the brilliantly oversized Canopy. The huge lens is made from Plutonite and takes advantage of patented XYZ Optics to provide clear, undistorted vision right up to the edge of your periphery. This fits perfectly into the ‘Performance’ range alongside much loved classics; Elevate and Splice. The one thing that all of these goggles have in common is interchangeable lenses and nothing uses these better than the Oakley Airbrake Goggle. This elite frame has ‘Switchlock’ technology taken from Oakley’s Sunglass range which allows for incredibly easy lens changes in any conditions. Oakley Airbrake Goggles also have fully adjustable straps to fit around any helmet size and the rigid frame provides unsurpassed impact protection. So there you have it, your complete low down on Oakley Goggles for this season. If you are thinking of going skiing this summer, Oakley Goggles are an extraordinarily good choice!
Since the beginning, Dragon set out to be the leading eyewear and accessories brand in the active youth lifestyle market by supporting the best athletes with the best product, while remaining connected to core retailers and consumers. That mission still holds true today and is the driving force behind the company’s success and heritage. In 1993, in a garage in Capo Beach, CA, founder Will Howard aimed to build a company that encompassed his passions for surfing, snowboarding, and riding dirt bikes. Enthusiasm and knowledge of the market bore Dragon’s first and still primary product, sunglasses. The company began distributing to local surf shops before expanding to Hawaii and Florida, and later Australia and other international markets.
Dragon Goggles have amazing lens technology and provide fantastic vision for the user at all times. Their APX Goggle is an absolute revolution in the industry as it is the world’s first frameless snow goggle with interchangeable lenses! The Super Anti-Fog lenses ensure that your quality of vision is never distorted no matter how hard you push yourself on the slope and the Polar Tech Micro Fleece provides comfortable usage all day long. But the biggest ripple in the Dragon Goggle pool this winter is the release of their brand new NFX Goggle; it features innovative armoured venting which ensures nothing can fly in through the normally weak gaps in the goggle frame. They boast a Dual-Lexan lens which has also been improved by Dragon’s AFT (Anti-Fog Treatment), which has 100% UV protection and great clarity of vision!
Bolle Snow Goggles are one of our newest acquisitions and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board; they bring an international edge and a fantastic level of quality and innovation to the party with impressive and bold designs to match. Founded in 1888, Bolle was created by Seraphin Bolle and his son who were inspired by the mountain spirit of the athletes at the time and in 2012; the Bolle athletes and Goggle designers continue this dream! You only have to visit the French Alps to see how popular Bolle Goggles have become over recent years with every other person currently sporting a set of these amazing goggles. They have a large range which varies in the technology used and the fantastically out there colour schemes which engulf the frames of their snow goggles ensure that you will certainly stand out on the slopes.
On top of all of these amazing goggle brands, we are also featuring a great array from Adidas Goggles, Arnette Goggles and Gucci Goggles!
