Coeur De Lion jewellery can be likened to a collection of modern art – all geometric shapes, dazzling colours and interesting materials. Launched in the late Eighties by German design duo Carola and Nils Eckrodt, Coeur De Lion Jewellery initially drew inspiration from industrial materials and production waste. From these raw beginnings sprung a collection of globally renowned jewellery pieces, in varying geometric shapes. Unsurprisingly, for the silhouette of her designs, Carola Eckrodt’s, main influence is architecture. Her work is also influenced by modern art and her travels around the world.
Each Coeur De Lion Jewellery design is handmade in Stuttgart, using the finest materials. Eckrodt was one of the first designers to be awarded permission by Swarovski to use their trademark for the Coeur De Lion collection. In addition to Swarovski crystal and semi precious stones, the jewellery is fashioned using a whole breadth of materials including; hand-winded glass, shell, alabaster-glass pearls, eloxated aluminum, precious wood, coral, gold, silver and unique acrylic “paillettes” with mirrored surfaces.
The colours are to die for too… beautiful, bold hues are a hallmark of Coeur De Lion Jewellery, especially within the necklace range. The rings, earrings and bracelets are also rainbow bright, however due to their smaller size they make a slightly more subtle impact!

Goggles Style Update – Summer 2011
Whether it’s racing, skiing or snowboarding, to fully experience your sporting adventure to the max, it is essential that you choose the correct equipment for safety purposes. The summer months are the perfect time to experiment with jewellery. In addition to the key seasonal jewellery trends, the summer is generally a time when we can infuse colour, texture and pattern into our look, and using jewellery is the perfect way to achieve that without the need to revamp our wardrobe! Some of the trends this summer include Aztec patterns and prints and there are a number of our jewellery brands that have incorporated this into their pieces. Aqua tones are also highly prominent, as is the concept of layering jewellery to create depth and contrasts to feminine outfits. Hugo Boss watches have been announced as the official sponsors of the world famous sailing event – Cowes Week. The sporting event is set in Cowes on the Isle of Wight and has been a fixture on the summer sporting calendar since 1826.
As the name suggests Cowes Week, is a week-long sailing regatta, which stages up to 40 races daily and boasts around 1,000 participating boats. Hugo Boss watches has a close relationship with sailing and has been involved in the sport since 2003, when the brand began sponsoring British boy Alex Thomson of Gosport, Hampshire. Alex will be racing the aptly named Hugo Boss yacht in the Artemis Challenge on Wednesday 10th August and then again in the Fastnet Race on Sunday 14th August.
Hugo Boss watches is a natural fit with sailing, as both combine grace with dynamism and have a unique sophistication. The Boss brand is renowned for it’s elegance and style and this is reflected, by and large, within the sailing community, who generally come from affluent backgrounds. Welder Watches
No accessory says action man quite like a Welder watch. Tough, mean-looking and chunky to boot, a Welder wristwatch is an imposing piece of kit. It’s also pretty darn impressive too, for, behind the mean exterior is the finest Italian craftsmanship.
Welder was launched in 2007 by Italo Fontana of the Fontana family, who were famed for making watches for the Italian Navy’s U-boat Officers during the Second World War. Fontana’s watch-making heritage combined with the use of the very best Italian materials and his aggressive approach to design, has made this brand really stand out in today’s saturated market. The price tag is high, but affordable enough to make a Welder watch an aspirational yet entirely achievable purchase.
The brand name Welder was adopted to symbolise the union of metals (to weld) and also to represent the mesh of innovative ideas that have gone towards creating the watches. It could be said the Welder collection follows an alchemic / material formula. The USP for Welder is their placement of the crown. In all other brands the crown (the stud you turn to change the time) is situated on the right of the watch face, however Welder place it on the left of all their wristpieces. The reason for this, they say is comfort – but it’s also a crucial step in the differentiation process.
Welder watches are attracting a big following in celeb-land. Particularly among sports stars. A number of Scottish and Welsh rugby players have been spotted wearing a Welder watch and the design suits their large masculine frames perfectly.
