Luxurious Michael Kors Style

Michael Kors is a designer who represents all things chic and sophisticated with a wearable and casual edge. A huge array of celebrities favour the Michael Kors style because it allows them to look fantastic and polished, yet also be comfortable.

Michael Kors watches are one of the most divine and luxurious accessories you could own yet are still versatile and wearable with a variety of looks. One of the main noticeable design elements of Michael Kors watches are the colours used. Something a little alternative from black, gold and silver or eye popping colours that many other brands have homed in on in recent seasons, Michael Kors watches feature beautiful tones such as brown, golden, fawn, beige and cream as well of course as the traditional staple colours.

Using examples within the collection, the MK5139 for example has a contemporary design with a bracelet strap and sleek circular dial but the stunning brown and cream horn effect colouring and gold detailing definitely injects something exquisite to the watch. The MK4200 is a little more of a dressed up and glamorous style and the tortoiseshell effect and central polished gold section, again adds something extremely refined and chic to the aesthetic of the watch.

Michael Kors is also renowned for retaining his own unique style but applying them to current trends. The MK5197, MK5198 and MK5195 are all perfect examples of this. With bang on trend polycarbonate outer links in contemporary and cool colours such as baby pink, white, and silver, added diamante embellishments either on the dial or at the centre of the links, this definitely adds a glam edge to a current style. Michael Kors is perfect at balancing casual with striking and ensures that the watches remain chic and simple with the focal point either being on the design or the sumptuous and luxurious colour.

In terms of unique design, Michael Kors certainly likes to experiment with innovative styles – the MK2118 is a great example of this with its sliding cover that when placed over the dial completely conceals it and makes the watch look more like an edgy and urban style bracelet. The MK3094 is also striking in terms of design with its super wide bangle style strap which has a textured finish and diamantes positioned around the outer and inner edges. The round dial positioned in the centre is kept small and simple so that the attention is drawn to the main body of the watch.

Michael Kors watches achieve the balance between chic, refined and sophisticated and trendy and cool. With an array of designs to suit a number of style preferences, versatility, beautiful colouring and unique and exquisite design are all common features within the range. The perfect accessory to add something wonderfully special to your look!

D&G Sunglasses: If they’re good enough for Madonna…

Posted by sarah

It won’t have escaped your attention that Madonna has become the latest poster girl for Dolce & Gabbana. In a series of black and white stills, shot in an Italian neo-realism style, a glamorously suburban Madonna goes about ‘her’ household chores, all the while modelling D&G’s 2010 Spring Collection.

D&G’s latest collection is a whimsical return to their Sicilian roots. Although the designers have been friends with Madonna for over 2 decades, it is Madge’s Italian heritage, rather than her friendship with the duo, that led to her fronting their latest campaign.

According to Dolce & Gabbana, Madonna ‘embodies the strong sensuality of the brand’ and we’re inclined to agree. Famed for her strong feminine looks, her sexuality and vibrant style, Miss Ciccone strikes us as a perfect brand ambassador for D&G.

Whilst any item from the D&G Spring collection is sure to burn a hole in your pocket, D&G style is easily replicated. A sexy high street pencil skirt and bustier can be accessorised with a gorgeous pair of genuine Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, for a quarter of the price. D&G sunglasses can be bought for as little as £80 at Shade Station and as we all know it’s the accessories that really make an outfit! With a massive selection of stunning D&G sunglasses and most of them new styles, Shade Station are making it a doddle to imitate fashion’s most talked about material girl!

The According to an insider, the two first met while LiLo was in New York for Fashion Week.

Adam was catapulted into the model spotlight, following his appearance in the rather controversial Gucci advertising campaign in 2003, which was shot by legendary photographer Mario Testino and is one of the main fashion campaigns that people always remember!

Guccio Gucci founded the House of Gucci in Florence in 1906 and his primary skill and creative talent was in the design and manufacturing of leather goods. He started out selling leather bags to horsemen in the 1920’s and progressed to deigning luxury luggage as his clients tended to move from equine transportation to horseless carriages. In 1938 Guccio Gucci opened their first retail shop on the Via Condotti in Rome and the brand became very successful and associated with Hollywood stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly following further store openings in Beverly Hills, Paris and Tokyo. It was in 1947 that the iconic leather handbag with a bamboo handle was launched which is still an incredibly popular Gucci product today. In the 1990’s, Tom Ford was responsible for escalating the brand back to its rightful sought after and exclusive status following it being sold in the 1980’s. Ford extended the product lines and since Frida Giannini’s arrival as Creative Director of Gucci in 2006, the brand range now includes a spectacularly stylish collection of leather accessories, perfumes, colognes, cosmetics, shoes and Gucci sunglasses. Gucci today is still one of the all time classic brands, whose products maintain that highly desired and exclusive appeal. It is often thought that if you own a piece of Gucci clothing or a Gucci accessory that certainly makes a statement about your style and status.

The latest news from Gucci is the announcement that in 2010 Gucci and luxury auction company Christie’s are collaborating to launch the ‘Gucci Collector: Presented by Christie’s’ which is the first online location for the appraisal of Gucci products whereby Gucci collectors can upload their vintage Gucci products and a team of Christie’s and Gucci experts will assess the value of the item. The owner will then have the option to sell the item back to Gucci or to list it at a future Christie’s auction.

The collection of Gucci sunglasses are the perfect representation of the luxurious essence of the brand – with stunningly dramatic frames and the use of bold yet elegant colours and patterns and added aesthetic features such as arm hinge buckle and Gucci logo detailing, a pair of these sunglasses will definitely assert your exquisite and refined taste in fashion. The perfect way to add that elite and much desired Gucci style to your look.

Tom Ford Turns Director in ‘A Single Man’

January 27, 2010
Posted by Laura

Tom Ford is a certainly a prominent name in the Fashion industry and before pursuing his own line, the designer was Creative Director of luxury Italian brand Gucci whereby he was responsible for putting the label back on the high fashion map after the company was close to bankruptcy. He then started a couture label of his own which includes the fantastically stylish collection of Tom Ford sunglasses.

Ford also likes to use his creative mind within his advertising campaigns which are notorious for their risqué and provocative nature, often using erotic imagery and nudity in order to create a buzz about his collections, accessories and fragrances.

However, Tom Ford this year decided that he wanted to channel his creative eye into the world of movies and as a previous actor and model himself, he certainly has experience in the movie industry. His new film which is entitled ‘A Single Man’ tells the story of a gay literature professor, played by British actor Colin Firth in 1962 in Los Angeles who is struggling to come to terms with the death of his lover in a society that is very much against gay relationships or more so, pretends that homosexuality doesn’t exist. Based on the book by Christopher Isherwood, the movie has received positive reviews claiming that the portrayal of the story has been directed by Ford in a sensitive and eloquent manner. The film is said not to be one that is based around homosexuality, but more about dealing with loss; a feeling and emotion that many people can relate to regardless of their sexuality. The glamorous screenings of ‘A Single Man’ have taken place this month and will hit the UK silver screens at the end of January 2010. The film is even rumoured to be on its way to earning a Golden Globe.

It definitely seems that there is no end to Ford’s talents and whilst he is keen to continue his work in the film industry, he is still a very prominent figure within the fashion world and is definitely going to continue designing. He actually claimed in a recent interview that the objective of both film and fashion is to inspire people and considers them to be very similar.

The collections of Tom Ford sunglasses are bold, sophisticated, beautiful and dramatic which is very much the essence of the Tom Ford style in general. With a range of oversized designs with retro inspired figure of eight slim style frames in addition to some highly stylish aviator sunglasses (including the legendary James Bond sunglasses!), these designs really give you that high fashion, polished look that will instantly make you look like the ultimate glamazon!

The Concept Behind Prada Sport

January 26, 2010
Posted by Laura

We all know that Prada is a brand which captures the essence of luxury and high-fashion. However, sometimes a brand needs to be able to provide something a little more casual and practical whilst still of course retaining the glamour and style. Therefore Prada also launched Prada Sport in the early 1990’s which is the brand’s leisure line and designed to be slightly more sport fashion orientated, as the name suggests.

Now, whilst most of us may think of tracksuits or even worse, the dreaded shell suit when we think of sports fashion it has actually become very much on trend over recent years and the definition of a sporty style certainly does not mean baggy, conservative or unflattering. In today’s era whereby physical activity or at least being on the go most of the time has become part of many of our lifestyles, we can’t walk around wearing high fashion attire or accessories all of the time because it simply isn’t practical. Advertising has also become far more leisure fashion orientated with images of healthy, athletic and happy people on the go. Sports stars are also becoming sports personalities and we see them wearing sport/fashion brands which of course then increases the popularity of the sports/fashion genre and makes it regarded as more trcndy and sought after. Prada quickly recognised this and by providing the Prada Sport line, this means the brand really does have something for those who want their attire and accessories to enhance their physical performance and thus caters for fashion across all style sectors.

The collection of Prada Sport sunglasses are highly stylish but are designed to be more practical for everyday wear, robust and durable. The Prada Sport label is sometimes known as the Linea Rossa line which means ‘red line’ in Italian and this is because a red line is the defining design detail used on the Prada Sport products. Within the range of unisex Prada Sport sunglasses, you will often find the red line positioned on the arms. It is a highly distinctive feature and simple yet stylish. Prada Sport sunglasses aren’t designed to be bold fashion accessories but more geared towards practicality with that trendy and super stylish Prada edge.

The main characteristics of Prada Sport sunglasses are very much associated and influenced by notorious Italian exquisite style and quality perfection. The brand strongly believes that high quality should be top of the design agenda and therefore the collection of sunglasses are designed based on extensive research and development and use only the most durable and robust materials in the production stages to ensure a long lasting product that can be worn on a day to day basis and never fail to look fantastic. Prada Sport is an innovative brand that utilises advanced technologies but respects that people favour the brand for its tradition style and concepts. Prada Sport sunglasses definitely have are strong character which is enhanced by flawless technology and unique style. The ultimate in combining practicality with full function. A fantastic range of sunglasses that are contemporary, cool and offer something highly credible in the sports/fashion world.

Dior Gets Technical with iPhone Movie

January 25, 2010
Posted by Laura

When you think of the luxury brand Christian Dior, you immediately think of glitz, glamour, drama and sophistication and that is exactly what surrounds the theme of the brand outside of the actual products. Famous for its elaborate and movie style commercials, earlier this year, Dior also homed in on the tech craze and made mobile fashionable in its multichannel effort to promote its iconic product the Lady Dior handbag.

The movie which is available to view via an iPhone application , is reminiscent of a black-and-white Alfred Hitchcock style film and is titled ‘The Lady Noire Affair’. The app allows viewers to watch a trailer, the entire movie and its making all from the comfort of their iPhone.

The Christian Dior brand, founded by French fashion designer Christian Dior was properly launched back in 1947 but what even older brands are recognising and embracing is that old fashioned marketing strategies are no longer effective in today’s era whereby mobile and interactive marketing is far more successful and reaches and engages consumers instantly.

The Dior movie is much like the commercials seen on television for Chanel starring actress Nicole Kidman. The mini-movie is about a woman named Lady Marion and what she may possibly have in her Lady Dior bag. To build anticipation and increase demand for the new Lady Dior bag, the company used social media tool Twitter to reveal one clue a day about the film until its release which of course built up anticipation and created a buzz and excitement about the Dior handbag. The film is a tribute to Dior’s renowned Parisian style and the Lady Dior bag. The film is eight minutes long and is the first of a series of four mini-movies.

Christian Dior is an incredibly iconic brand and the designer was renowned for his ability to create beautiful shapes and silhouettes and made women look ultra feminine. A famous quote from the designer ‘I have designed flower women’ and this involved a look which accentuated the waist and bust and creating garments which created a curvaceous look.

The collection of Dior sunglasses are wonderfully exquisite and glamorous, and designed to look fabulous and create a high couture style statement. Famous for the love of the colour pink which is a common colour in many of the Dior accessories, some of the sunglasses feature rose tinted lenses and pink frames but remain ultra chic and sophisticated. Some of the new styles also include dramatically oversized frames which are reminiscent of 1950’s Hollywood glamour and there is also a selection of contemporary frames that are simple in style and highly on trend.

Dior is a classic brand that it has a unique style of its own. If you wear Dior, it definitely says something about your style personality and this is a high fashion designer label that depicts the essence of femininity. Dior is incredibly popular and regarded as sought after by many young people who favour the brand for the reason that it was loved decades ago. By keeping up with technology and adapting its marketing strategies accordingly, this has enabled the brand to reach out to the younger and tech savvy generation. The style of advertising campaigns and movies are also directed to portray the brand as one which oozes beauty, delicacy and glamour and also adds an element of the entertainment factor to the Dior brand which has proved to be very effective.

Carrera was born out of a desire to create sunglasses and accessories for sports, primarily for people within motor sports, winter sports and cycling. Launched in 1956, the company name is Spanish for ‘race’ and pays homage to the ‘Carrera Panamericana’ Mexican road race of the 1950s.

Although designed for sport, Carrera have won over the fashion crowd to staggering effect. Helped by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Kanye West and David Beckham, Carrera is no longer just a company with a solid base in the sports industry, it’s become a byword for cool looking sunglasses.
