Dsquared’s debut sunglasses collection!
Dsquared is the hip label loved by all celebrities. Their clothing is regularly seen on Justin Timberlake, Lenny Kravitz and Ricky Martin. Madonna had them design costumes for her Drowned World Tour in 2001. Christina Aguilera and Rihanna took to the catwalk for them, stripping male models and posing in a muscle car respectively. Hell, even Britney’s in on the act, having commissioned the company to design outfits for her current Circus World Tour. And it doesn’t end there, the Italian Football team Juventus had Dsquared design their team kit in 1996. For a label on the edge of the high fashion periphery, Dsquared have a very loyal and glitzy following!
Dsquared is the brainchild of Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten, who moved to Italy in 1991 to pursue their love of fashion. In 1994 they took to the Milanese runway with their debut men’s collection. The remainder of the Nineties saw the boys develop and grow their label and in 2003 they introduced a women’s collection as well as picking up a GQ Award for ‘Men of the Year award for breakout design’.
This year Dsquared have launched their first sunglasses collection. Paying homage to the 70s hip hop culture, Kool Herc and Afrika Bambaataa, the boys have created an exciting and sexy range which you’ll be able to buy at Shade Station very soon. The collection consists of 16 sunglasses designs for men and women and has been described as ‘self-assured, vibrant and sexy’. Much like the models advertising them, Naomi Campbell, Tyson Beckford and Linda Evangelista!
Contrast is key to the designs. Men’s frames alternate between teardrop shaped metal and square shaped acetate, occasionally with a touch of gold. Dsquared Women’s sunglasses are angular and wide with large circular lenses. They come in shades of red, tortoiseshell, dark brown and black.
Both men’s and women’s models have a Seventies silhouette and some are embellished with gold and jewels, to reflect the glamour of the era. If these very cool designs appeal to you, make sure you stay glued to Shade Station as Dsquared sunnies wil be available to purchase imminently!

Shadestation Soon to Stock D Squared Sunglasses

Canadian identical twins Dean and Dan Caten are the creative talent behind super hip label DSquared who recently presented their latest Autumn/Winter collection at Milan Fashion Week. The brand is famous for its energetic and sexy designs and the twins often design costumes for huge elaborate fashion and stage shows including the Britney Spears Circus tour.
The style of DSquared is very much a combination of a homely Canadian style with a huge injection of Italian
chic and hence the designs are sophisticated yet sexy and fun. Shadestation is therefore very excited to announce that we will soon be stocking the latest range of DSquared sunglasses. Orange and purple are particular popular colours and are set to be big news in the coming months. Whatever your preference try to avoid the matchy matchy look that Paris Hilton seems to favour so much!
Colourful watches can add real appeal to an outfit. One idea is to match the colour of your watch face to a particular colour you are wearing to bring the whole ensemble together. Or perhaps opt for contrasting colours to set both your outfit and your wrist off to great effect. Yellow and Purple are fabulous contrasting colours and as such a yellow LTD Watch would add extra oomph to any purple clothing you are wearing. Finally for the brave fashionista’s amongst you, clashing hues can be very fashion-forward and style savvy, a pink LTD watch with a red belt for instance or red skinny jeans would be a great choice and mark you out as a real trend-setter.
Whatever the weather this summer, opt for a brightly coloured LTD Watch to supercharge your wrist with a vibrant hue and lift your mood!

Versace Sunglasses – Sexy and Bold
Versace is arguably the best known luxury designer brand. The label is widely known to be glamorous, beautiful, sophisticated and luxe. Headed up by Creative Director Donatella Versace, who took over the family business following the death of her brother Gianni in 1997, Versace has gone from strength to strength under her guidance.
Perhaps best known for their daring, plunging eveningwear, Versace is comfortable in the limelight and the headlines, as movie stars and musicians clamor to wear the latest designs from the Versace collection. Elizabeth Hurley is a fantastic example of a Versace Woman. Elevated to fame on the arm of Hugh Grant whilst wearing THAT infamous safety pin dress, she has since gone on to star in numerous Versace campaigns and has been a great supporter of the label and a good friend to Donatella. Similarly Jennifer Lopez is a big fan of Versace. If you had to think of one image of J-Lo, I’m guessing it would be of her wearing the green tropical, slashed to the navel, attention grabbing dress at the 2000 Grammys, early in her career. That dress was the topic of conversation for many months after and as such Versace enjoyed another red carpet smash.
Current fashion favourite, singer, Lady GaGa is renowned for her very bold choice of eyewear. The sunglasses that she is seen in, in every promotional shot, video and out on the town are widely acknowledged to be vintage Versace.
A bit like their uber sexy dresses, Versace sunglasses have an unmistakable injection of sexual prowess. Curvy and often over sized, with gold detailing largely on the arms and the instantly recognisable Versace logo, Versace shades are the accessory of choice for many a stylish woman. Although bling, Versace sunglasses never overstep the vulgar mark. Normally in black or tortoiseshell and available in many differing styles (wrap around, fly, square), Versace eyewear is definitely a stylish choice for fashion-forward confident women.

Fabulous Fendi. Fendi Sunglasses.
So you thought Karl Lagerfield made his name with Chanel? Not so. Way before he joined Chanel as creative director, the young Karl Lagerfield was blazing a trail in Italy with Fendi, having joined the company in 1965. He was instrumental in helping Fendi change direction and put them firmly on the path they follow today as leaders in the luxury goods market. At a similar time Fendi developed their iconic interlocking double F logo, which was to become synonymous with quality and class.
When you think of Fendi, the first thing that comes to mind is their famous ‘Baguette’ bag, created in 1997 and revered by just about everyone in fashionable society. Arguably the first designer ‘IT’ bag, the ‘Baguette’ immediately became a classic and was a constant in magazines and on affluent arms everywhere. Fendi capitalised on their success and followed the ‘Baguette’ with the Fendi ‘Spy’ and then the ‘B Fendi Bag’, which all met with similar adoration.
Although Fendi eyewear has not enjoyed the same level of enormous success as their bags, this has not stopped people embracing them. Many celebrities are often seen sporting Fendi sunglasses – the most popular in recent seasons has been the Fendi B Buckle Aviator Sunglasses, a classic aviator style with a double bridge over the nose and a belt buckle detail on the arm. Eva Longoria, Mischa Barton and Lindsey Lohan have all been photographed wearing them and you can get your hands on them at a reduced price here on Shade Station.
Fendi glasses are designed to be exclusive, with most prices often in the hundreds, their shades ooze glamour and luxury. The Fendi logo is incorporated into each design, whether discreet or showy and this is a symbol of their authenticity. Most styles are oversized and many feature rhinestone detailing and unique arms. Although at the high end of the consumer market, Fendi sunglasses are a style statement and are sure to mark the wearer out as a woman (or man) with extremely good taste.
