Ray Ban’s may be one of our favourite staple sunglasses but what we love so much about the brand is their constant ability to revive or introduce new styles and frames to keep us fashion lovers on our toes. The Clubmaster, with their typically fifties inspired style were hugely popular in the eighties and have come full circle once more for 2009. With their cool, retro appeal, they are certain to be a sure favourite this summer and whilst the vintage Clubmaster retains its classic and chic style, it has been transported into 2009 with a huge burst of colour.
The massive trend of 2009 with both accessories and clothing is an
injection of bold colour, and Ray Ban have typically pre-empted this and now in addition to the classic black-and-tortoise shell Clubmasters, you can choose from other vibrant colours such as devil red and light gold. Clubmasters will suit a skinny jeans, heels and t-shirt look right through to a more urban street style and they are already a hit with quite the eclectic and trendy crowd with celebrities such as Pete Doherty, Diane Kruger and Robin Pattinson huge fans.
In fact, Rayban are so proud of their revived Clubmasters that back in December they hosted a party to celebrate the launch. Held in New York’s Bowery Ballroom, indie bands Black Kids, Ipso-Facto and White Williams in keeping with the Clubmaster theme, reinterpreted their favourite ‘50s and ‘60s songs at the legendary music hall for guests including Kevin Bacon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Johsua Jackson and Diane Kruger. Ray-Ban will also hold Clubmaster events in Beijing and Milan. These are certainly sure to be the sunglasses of the season!

New to Shade Station this week is the very aptly named ‘LTD Watches’. Adopting a clever gimmick to keep up with the ever-changing fashion forecast, LTD watches produce a number of highly limited edition watches each season. Approximately 100-150 on-trend wrist pieces are created of each design in the range and once they’re gone, that’s it folks, they’re gone forever – never to be reproduced.
This innovative concept ensures the designs always remain fresh and able to stay abreast of seasonal trends, whilst also being highly covetable.
There are universal similarities in each design, such as a magnified date window, a stainless steel case back, precision Japanese Quartz movement and a polycarbonate case and bracelet. And you can also be certain of the authenticity of the model, as each watch comes with it’s unique limited edition number marked on the back. This season there’s a colour for everyone; choose from black, white, canary yellow, vivid green, royal blue or baby pink LTD watch. Each has a different coloured face and is certain to add a splash of humour and creativity to any wrist.
Competitively priced at £49 a piece these exclusive designs are a steal and enable the wearer to stay well astride of fickle accessory trends from season to season.

Fashion trends come and go but there are certain accessory staples that will always be on trend. Sunglasses are one of them and even overtook the popularity of the bag in 2008. Every guy and girl need an ultra cool pair of shades to see in the spring and summer months and with London Fashion Week fast approaching, we are certain to see some stylish frames adorning the faces of the fashionistas to hide those late night party eyes.
Tom Ford sunglasses are sure to be one of those brands that we see in between (and probably during) the shows and are the perfect accessory to complete your wardrobe this summer. Glamorous, chic, and statement style is what Tom Ford is all about and a pair of his frames will ensure that you get noticed. Not only stylish but equally as functional, all Tom Ford sunglasses are hand crafted in Italy with exceptional attention to detail.
So what exactly is it that makes this brand so desired? Quite possibly the fact that every fashion loving celebrity owns a pair, of course! The various shapes available, particularly the oversized range, exuberate sophistication and drama and will instantly transform your dressed down jeans and t-shirt into an A list look. The famous ‘Whitney’ style has been updated for 2009 into a range of other female name inspired versions, including the ‘Simone’ style; a gorgeous black vintage style frame with bamboo effect arms. The
‘Yvette’ style with a gold frame and pearlised cream arms is definitely a personal favourite and epitomises the definition of glamour. Of course, there is something for the men too, and the Tom Ford James Bond range as seen on Daniel Craig in the most recent film ‘Quantum of Solace’ definitely give that sleek 007 vibe to your look!
Other celebrities who favour Tom Ford sunglasses include our very own Colleen Rooney, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Tom Ford is absolutely one of the must have sunglasses brands this season and the great thing about his styles are that they never go out of fashion and will see you through many summers (and late night parties!) ahead.

Tags:DKNY was created to reflect the essence of New York Living. The company began from humble beginnings in 1984 with a simple women’s wear line. However Donna Karan had grand plans for a total lifestyle system, and the following years saw the label branching out into men’s wear, fragrances and lingerie to name a few. By 2001 the global empire was complete with the launch of the DKNY Home Collection and DKNY Life.
DKNY Life incorporates watches and Jewelry and both lines are designed with the fashion forward in mind. A little glitzy, with cheeky accents, DKNY watches are the perfect wrist accessories for those who want functionality with a smattering of glamour.
Celebrities are keen to be associated with the brand too, Take Rachel Bilson for example, last year she teamed up with DKNY to produce a women’s wear collection under the name Edie Rose. This year the label’s latest signing is teen queen Hillary Duff who will be the face of DKNY for the next two seasons.
DKNY’s namesake, Donna Karan is an all round good egg. She uses her position and her visibility in society to good affect. She is committed and involved in raising and donating funds for various causes including AIDS Awareness and Education and ovarian cancer charities. It may ease your mind and conscience therefore, by knowing that the DKNY bling you wear, or are intending to buy, is not purely a selfless act of vanity, but rather a contribution to a very worthy cause.

Tags:Nixon is submerged entirely within the hip US extreme sports culture – to such an extent that it fields it’s own Nixon Teams in all major board sporting events (surf/skate/snowboard).
In addition to being embroiled in skate culture, Nixon positively courts rockstars, sportsmen and celebrities, many whom have worked in collaboration with the company to design one-of-a-kind watches inspired by their own unique artwork.
Known as the Nixon LTD Collection, this enterprise is in its fifth successful year. Past contributors include Tony Hawk, Anthony Kiedis and Jennifer Lopez. The most recent celebrity intake for the 2008 collection boasted stars like Hero’s Milo Ventimigila, Jack Black and Ringo Starr.
The lack of high quality performance watches on the market led to the creation of Nixon Watches – the company decided to plug the gap with watches that growled attitude and could deliver the ‘whole package’. And they certainly stayed true to their word, the collections are always innovative, fresh and of the highest quality. Words like ‘electric shock’, ‘futuristic’, ‘geometric’, ‘synergy’ and ‘bold’ are bandied around to describe the current collection. Nixon have cleverly managed to combine functionality with eye catching,
colourful and slick design. However such style comes with a price tag to match and some of their watches could do some serious damage to your wallet. Shade Station however, stocks a huge range of affordable Nixon wristwear that even the light of pocket can enjoy!

1983 marked the launch of Italian brand Police, the name of which was inspired by the eye protection worn by the U.S police. Police is an edgy brand and one which has successfully managed to remain classic yet futuristic, ever adapting and modern. The brand has a metropolitan appeal and perfect for those looking for something distinctive and of course, completely cool.
Police sunglasses remain as one of the contenders who are always at the height of fashion and their sunglasses range are effortlessly fashionable and expressive of the wearer’s unique style. The male collection places emphasis on sharp, vibrant designs which are classic yet in keeping with the latest fashion trends. The range features a variety of styles including aviators which provide a modern take on the 1980’s versions and are perfect for creating a sophisticated and cool look. If you are after a more sporty type vibe, Police have merged aluminium temples and dual-mirror lenses to create deeper tones and a more sporty mix of colour.
Police has become so iconic not only due to the products themselves, but also in their advertising campaigns and the choice of celebrities they have chosen to represent the brand. Over the years, we have seen Bruce Willis, George Clooney and of course, David Beckham as the faces of Police, all of whom are perfect male figures to portray the cool vibe and values of the Police brand – confidence, glamour and presence. The brand is perfect for those who prefer a more classic, clean cut style with a dynamic edge.
