Superdry Watches - The cult label

Superdry is the cult-clothing label that celebrities and the general public adore equally. Launched in 2003, Superdry has grown beyond all expectations and has quickly become one of the most popular labels on the high street.

Superdry Watches - The look

Superdry draws its main influences from Japanese design and American retro style. Combining quality materials, American utility-wear design and vintage Japanese graphics, the label has become synonymous with quality and style. Superdry has been likened to an affordable version of Abercrombie and Fitch, and similarly to this hugely popular US label, Superdry has plugged a gap in the market with its niche clothes and footwear.

Rather than focus on seasonal collections, Superdry designers channel their energy into strengthening the design of the product and this makes for a singularly much stronger overall collection of clothes.

The use of vintage American materials like denim and plaid is very much in evidence throughout Superdry design and the label's range of jeans are among some of the best on the market.

Superdry Watches - Popular collections

Drawing on its Japanese influences, one of the most sought after T-shirts in the Superdry collection is the Osaka range. Available in numerous colours the t-shirt design is simplistic and is a nod towards the Japanese love of baseball. Featuring the word 'Osaka', which is a Japanese city and the number '6', this t-shirt can be seen on trendy men and women across the world, including Golden Balls himself, David Beckham.,

The 'Brad' leather jacket (also worn by Beckham) is one of the most popular Superdry designs and enjoyed enormous success after Beckham was papped wearing it.

Superdry produces clothes for men and women and although there are separate collections for both genders, the men's range is largely unisex. They create jackets, raincoats, t-shirts and hooded tops which look equally as good whether you're male or female. The Superdry range of two-tone anoraks are particularly well made, look fantastic and are the ultimate wet weather accessory for the upcoming festival season!

Superdry Watches - The man behind the brand

Superdry is the creation of Julian Dunkerton. He launched the company in 2003 but his first foray into fashion came in the 1985 when he moved from London to Cheltenham and set up a market stall selling clothes that reflected his own personal style. The success of his market stall led to him opening a store called 'Cult', selling clothes aimed at the student market.Cult was a huge triumph for Julian and today there are 22 stores across the UK. In 2003 using Cult as a launch pad, Superdry was born. The popularity of the brand was quickly recognised, when Superdry, having been placed in the Manchester House of Fraser site as part of a big rollout plan, became the fastest selling concession brand in the company's history. From there, Superdry was placed in further House of Fraser outlets, and in the flagship store on Oxford Street in London, Superdry brings in almost as much money as Ralph Lauren, historically it's biggest revenue earner.
