Nautica watches were originally founded in 1983 by David Chu and the brand began by making a small collection of men's sailing jackets, hence the name. The brand became popular very quickly and thus decided to extend its lines and range of products. The company was then bought by the VF Corporation in 2003, but retained the same core values of innovative design and first class craftsmanship. It was in 1994 that Nautica introduced watches to its collection with the objective to provide style and function and focus on classic sportswear watches. Most Nautica watches are designed for men featuring large faces, multiple sub-dials and added features including waterproof protection or extra lighting.
